Job Description

We are looking for a Collections Agent to join a team in San Diego, California in a contract-to-permanent position. This opportunity is well suited for someone who communicates with confidence, approaches sensitive financial conversations with empathy, and stays organized in a fast-paced call center setting. The person in this role will help customers understand their accounts, support repayment solutions, and maintain thorough records of every interaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Speak with customers by phone to review outstanding balances, clarify account information, and discuss available resolution options.
  • Arrange practical repayment solutions, including settlements, payoff terms, and scheduled payment plans based on account needs.
  • Record complete and accurate notes from each conversation while updating account details in the system.
  • Draft and send collection-related correspondence using approved templates and established communication standards.
  • Handle outgoing mail activities to ensure notices and supporting documents are prepared and distributed on time.
  • Manage a steady volume of inbound and outbound calls while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and courtesy.
  • Provide service-oriented communication during difficult conversations and represent the organization in a respectful manner.
  • Support additional collection and administrative tasks as needed to meet team and business goals.
