Our physicians and staff work together as a team, and every employee plays an important role in helping patients receive exceptional care while ensuring the financial health of the practice. We are seeking an experienced Medical Billing & Medicare Specialist who takes pride in accuracy, problem solving, and seeing claims through to resolution. The Medical Billing & Medicare Specialist is responsible for managing the revenue cycle from claim submission through payment resolution. This position requires an organized, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with physicians, administrators, insurance companies, and patients. Primary Responsibilities Submit and follow up on Medicare, commercial insurance, Workers' Compensation, and personal injury claims. Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims. Review EOBs and electronic remittance advice (ERAs). Work aging accounts and reduce outstanding accounts receivable. Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claims and appeals. Process patient payments and establish payment plans. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits. Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and billing system. Assist with month-end revenue cycle reporting. Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve billing issues. Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications Minimum two years of medical billing experience (orthopedic experience preferred). Strong knowledge of Medicare billing and reimbursement. Experience with insurance denials and appeals. Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and medical billing software. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
