Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a skilled Collections Specialist to join our team in Binghamton, New York. In this contract position, you will play a pivotal role in managing accounts receivable and optimizing collection processes to ensure timely payments. This role requires strong communication skills and attention to detail to handle both commercial and consumer collections effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and reduce outstanding balances.
• Handle commercial and consumer collections with professionalism and efficiency.
• Communicate with clients to resolve billing discrepancies and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and account statuses.
• Collaborate with internal teams to address credit and payment issues.
• Utilize established collection processes to improve recovery rates.
• Prepare and analyze collection reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations during all collection activities.
• Respond promptly to inquiries regarding account balances and payment schedules.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the collections workflow. Requirements
• Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes.
• Familiarity with accounts receivable management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and systems.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements related to collections.
