Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing outstanding accounts receivable, contacting customers regarding overdue balances, resolving billing issues, and helping improve overall cash flow. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain positive client relationships while handling collections activities professionally.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and overdue payments + Contact customers by phone, email, and written correspondence to collect past-due accounts + Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and account questions + Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and customer communications + Work with internal teams, including accounting and customer service, to resolve account issues + Prepare aging reports and provide updates on collection status + Negotiate payment arrangements when appropriate + Apply payments, reconcile accounts, and support month-end reporting as needed + Ensure collections activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations
Requirements Qualifications:
Based on general knowledge. + 2+ years of collections, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience + Strong understanding of billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail + Ability to manage difficult conversations professionally and effectively + High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
