The Collections Support Specialist is responsible for providing crucial support to Premium Accounting and Collections by performing tasks to support the premium deposit process, including batching and keying deposits, while also assisting with collection activities. This role requires strong organizational, customer service, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases, to handle sensitive financial information and ensure accurate record-keeping. This model supports collaboration while providing flexibility and work-life balance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collection of Premium Outstanding
  • Assisting with the collection process by creating and maintaining client credit history files and managing accounts to ensure timely payments. Documenting collection activities, creating reports, and maintaining accurate records using computer systems and databases. Deposit Processing
  • Batching and Keying deposits. Collections Administrative Support
  • Preparing and processing collection correspondence and assisting with collection reporting and account referrals. Premium Accounting Administrative Support
  • Keying policy transactions, printing and electronically filing daily bank statements and reports, and processing and keying miscellaneous billing transactions.
Handling telephone calls, email correspondence, and communication with insureds, agents, and collection agencies. Providing back-up for other Premium Accounting positions, as necessary.
Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's degree preferred or equivalent work-related experience. Prior administrative, accounting support, or collections experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access) Strong organizational, record-keeping, and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication, customer service and negotiation skills. Professional approach to handling sensitive financial information.
Merchants Insurance Group Pay information:
Merchants Insurance Group offers a competitive pay scale. The estimated salary for this role ranges from $20.00
  • $26.
00 hourly based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience and qualifications.
