Full-time, Exempt Salary range: $21.75 - $26.10 Premium Collection Specialist Position Summary The Premium Collections Specialist is responsible for coordinating premium collection activities for overdue accounts to support timely and accurate premium recovery. This position monitors delinquent accounts, performs collection follow-up, resolves billing-related issues, and provides professional service to internal and external customers. The role also serves as a subject matter resource for premium collection processes and works collaboratively to support departmental operations. Key Responsibilities Monitor delinquent group and individual accounts in accordance with established collection policies and timelines Generate and review delinquency, aging, and collection reports to support follow-up activities Prepare and track collection communications, including letters, emails, and customer outreach Document customer responses, payment arrangements, and account resolution activities accurately Collaborate with Billing, Enrollment, and other internal departments to resolve account issues Respond to billing and collection inquiries from internal and external customers professionally and timely Maintain accurate records to support reporting, compliance, and audit readiness Provide backup support for billing and collections functions as needed Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 years of billing and customer service experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving percentages, ratios, and account balances Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills Ability to learn and adapt to billing, collections, and reporting systems Ability to use ten-key by touch Preferred Qualifications Associate degree Understanding of basic accounting principles Experience with premium billing, collections, or healthcare-related financial processes Working Conditions Service center environment with moderate noise level May require occasional lifting of up to 20-25 pounds Eligible to work from home subject to management approval This position requires residency on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Competitive compensation & excellent benefits offered Visit our website at https://uhahealth.com/page/career-opportunities to apply and for details about vacant positions.
