This is not an entry-level collections position. We are looking for someone with a proven background in commercial accounts receivable and collections who can hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will be confident handling difficult collection accounts, understand lien rights and deadlines, and have experience working with third-party collection agencies. Responsibilities Manage commercial accounts receivable and past-due accounts. Contact customers by phone and email to collect outstanding balances. Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining positive customer relationships. Determine when accounts should move to legal collections or lien filing. Prepare and submit lien notices and lien filings in accordance with applicable laws. Coordinate with third-party collection agencies and attorneys. Review customer payment history and document collection efforts. Work closely with management to reduce outstanding receivables. Assist with account reconciliations and dispute resolution. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of commercial collections experience required. Experience filing construction or mechanic's liens preferred. Knowledge of lien deadlines, notices, and collection procedures. Experience working with third-party collection agencies. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize a high-volume workload. Experience with accounting or ERP software (Sage experience is a plus). Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Preferred Experience Commercial HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, construction, or service industry collections. Knowledge of Texas lien laws is a strong plus. Experience reviewing customer credit and recommending collection actions. What We're Looking For Self-motivated and dependable. Comfortable having difficult conversations with customers.
