Position Summary:
As a Billing Specialist III , you are an advanced one biller . You manage more complex Billing scenarios and payors and are a go‑to person for questions in your area. You still spend most of your time in production but you also help with problem solving, small improvements and supporting less experienced billers. This role is a natural next step from Specialist II and a typical feeder role into Billing Auditor or future specialist/lead positions.

In this role you will: Handle complex Billing work for your markets or payors
  • including special contract rules, harder payors and cases that require more judgement. Work on more advanced tasks such as difficult rejections, coordinating information with Insurance Relations and Patient Experience , and supporting small projects with your Billing Manager or Leads. Act as a day‑to‑day SME for Billing Specialist I and II colleagues
  • answering questions, sharing tips and helping with tricky cases.
Share patterns and ideas with the Training & Quality, Performance & Technology and Process Excellence Leads when you see recurring issues or improvement opportunities. Help keep queues stable in priority areas by stepping in where your skills are most needed.
Qualifications:
Typically have 3-5+ years of Ambulance Billing/RCM or similar experience, including work as a one biller. Are comfortable with more complex payors, rules and scenarios and enjoy solving harder cases. Like helping others
  • you naturally support and guide less experienced colleagues without needing formal manager title.
Are interested in contributing to improvements and, over time, progressing into Billing Auditor or other specialist/lead roles. Are comfortable spending most of your time in production, while also playing a key knowledge and support role.
