In this role, you will be responsible for managing client billing processes, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and maintaining seamless communication with clients and internal departments. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial software, and customer service will drive efficient billing operations and support the company's financial health. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills while contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Prepare and process client invoices using billing software and accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft. Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and SOX standards. Manage collections accounts by following up on overdue payments and negotiating payment arrangements with clients. Enter data accurately into spreadsheets and accounting software, utilizing Excel formulas and data analysis techniques to identify discrepancies or trends. Conduct account analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliation to maintain precise financial records. Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, or discrepancies via phone or email while maintaining professional etiquette. Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports, performing account analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. Skills Strong understanding of accounting principles including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance. Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar systems; experience with billing software is highly desirable. Advanced Excel skills including formulas, data analysis, and spreadsheet management for reporting purposes. Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, credit analysis, debits & credits, and technical accounting concepts. Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry accuracy (10 key typing skills). Effective communication skills for client interaction and negotiation; professional phone etiquette is essential. Ability to perform account reconciliation, account analysis, and manage accounts receivable with efficiency. Familiarity with public accounting practices and experience working within a corporate finance environment is preferred.
