This role ensures accurate tuition billing, reduces outstanding balances and supports institutional cash flow, while maintaining a student-centered approach. The successful candidate will have experience in student billing, higher education accounts receivable and collections. Must be confident in having payment discussions, both in person and via phone.
Typical Responsibilities:
Billing and Accounts Receivable:
Generate and process student billing statements accurately and on schedule Post tuition, fees, and payments to student accounts Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies Support billing cycle audits and reporting Collections and Payment Processing Proactively contact students regarding past-due balances Conduct collections outreach via phone, email and in person Establish and document payment arrangements Records and track all collection activity Reduce aged receivables and improve collection timelines
Student Account Support:
Communicate balances and payment expectations clearly Provide professional, solution-oriented customer service Partner with admissions and internal departments on at-risk accounts.
Qualifications:
1-3 years' experience in student billing, accounts receivable or collections in a college or university setting required Previous experience as a Billing Coordinator or similar role preferred Strong understanding of student account operations Possesses comfort level in discussing payments and resolving delinquent balances Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to interpret account data and aging reports Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Position is on Campus, in person
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
