Role Description The Entry Level Billing Clerk is a full-time, on-site role based in Hartford, CT. This role is responsible for accurately processing invoices, posting payments, and updating customer and account records in the dealership's billing systems. The Billing Clerk will review documentation for completeness, reconcile billing discrepancies, and assist with basic accounting and administrative tasks. Daily activities include communicating with internal departments to clarify billing details, handling customer inquiries related to billing, and ensuring that records are organized and maintained for reporting and audit purposes. The role requires attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and adherence to established dealership and financial procedures. Qualifications Strong numerical, data entry, and basic accounting skills, with the ability to accurately process invoices and payments. Proficiency with office and billing software (e.g., Excel, accounting or dealership management systems) and ability to learn new tools quickly. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers, and management. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Customer service mindset with a professional, collaborative approach to working with team members and clients. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in accounting, finance, or business is a plus. Prior experience in billing, accounting, or an office environment is helpful but not required; willingness to learn and follow established procedures is essential.
