The Payment Poster oversees the intake of payments. Your responsibilities will include accepting payments, processing billing statements, and conducting audits for each billing cycle. The ideal candidate for this position is efficient, has high attention to detail, understands the importance of accuracy and checking your work, and is industrious. Accurately post payments from insurance companies and patients to the appropriate accounts. Review and reconcile payment discrepancies, ensuring all adjustments are documented correctly. Collaborate with leadership to resolve any issues related to payment posting and collections. Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to payment activities and outstanding collections.

Experience Education:

A high school diploma or GED is often the minimum, though medical billing and coding certifications or an associate degree can enhance job prospects Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a focus on medical billing and collections.

Mathematical Ability:

Ability to perform calculations and balance financial transactions. Strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to interpret medical records effectively.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and internal staff. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Problem-Solving:

Strong problem-solving skills to resolve payment issues efficiently. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
