Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Billing Specialist, where your expertise will drive the financial health of our medical practice. In this vital role, you will manage the entire billing process, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and effective collections. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems will help optimize revenue cycles and improve patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding standards. Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing compliance. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to service delivery. Maintain detailed records of billing activities within EMR/EHR systems for audit readiness. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures for precise billing. Stay current with industry regulations and updates in medical coding standards to ensure compliance. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or related medical office roles. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10), CPT coding, and DRG systems. Familiarity with medical records management and documentation standards. Experience working with EMR or EHR systems for billing and recordkeeping. Excellent understanding of medical collection processes and insurance claim procedures. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and efficiently. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
