JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary Maintain billing tables. Configure electronic claims and remittance files. Triage system errors and correct data problems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assume lead role in Avatar AR configuration. Maintain PM configurations in Avatar such as: Guarantors, Benefit Plans, Service Codes, Programs, Sites, Fees, and Posting Codes. Research and gather information to set up configurations in Avatar. Review and resolve billing errors related to configurations. Establish expertise in setting up the 835 functionalities. Establish expertise in setting up the 837 or other electronic submit functionality. Work closely with Finance and ERP staff to maintain GL mappings. Research and maintain payor set ups for the claim's clearinghouse. Assist with Helpdesk tickets related to billing questions and issues. Lead testing of Avatar functions when new updates are pushed out. Provide feedback and assist in implementing new billing requirements. Completes duties independently, correctly, and timely. Recommends positive improvements to the process and electronic health record Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of State rules and regulations Knowledge of general office procedures Knowledge of insurance billing Knowledge of CPT, ICD, and DSM codes Skill in oral and written communication Skill in problem-solving Minimum Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED required Experience 5 years Behavioral Healthcare accounts receivable experience Licenses and Certifications None Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree plus 3 years Behavioral Healthcare accounts receivable experience. Experience at Centerstone as an Accounts Receivable Clerk preferred. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
