Job Description

Acadian Ambulance has an immediate opening for a full-time Billing Specialist to work with our Acadian Client Services team in Lafayette, LA.The Billing Specialist (LA/TN/MS Medicaid) is responsible for processing and resolving insurance claims. Ensuring proper payment of claims, appealing of denials and resolution of claims.
JOB LOCATION
This position is based in the office, located in Lafayette, LA. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

This is NOT a Work From Home position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for claim status checks as needed to ensure proper resolutionInitiating contact with insurance providers as neededReview and process claim rejections and appeals for research and resolutionMonitor payment discrepancies and process paymentsReview claims for Federal complianceProcess incoming correspondence and phone calls specific to the payer typeVerification of patient insuranceEnsure accuracy of demographic informationOther duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalentPrevious medical billing experience with an emphasis on LouisianaMedicaid preferredProficient in Google, MS Office Suite or related softwareAbility to communicate clearly and conciselyAbility to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers and patientsPunctual with strong attendance historyAbility to adhere to productivity goals, departmental and company guidelines, dress code, policies and proceduresExcellent interpersonal skills and time managementMaintain highest level of confidentialityAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
