Billing Specialist Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will generate, review, and process invoices accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves investigating and resolving billing discrepancies and customer inquiries, maintaining customer billing records, and preparing billing drafts for management review. The Billing Specialist will work closely with various departments to address and resolve billing concerns. Responsibilities Generate, review, and process invoices accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with company policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries. Maintain and update customer billing records. Prepare and distribute billing drafts for management review. Collaborate with Operations, Collections, Contracting/Budgeting, and Customer Service teams to resolve billing concerns. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience in non-medical billing and customer account maintenance. Strong understanding of accounting principles and billing. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel knowledge (formulas and pivot tables are a plus). Tech-savvy with the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills with internal and external partners/clients. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required). Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy. Ability to quickly identify and resolve billing issues. Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks. Discretion in handling sensitive financial and customer information. Work Environment The position requires working onsite 5 days a week, with an 8-hour workday and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Employees can choose a set schedule of 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
