Job Description
Law Firm - Billing Clerk/Legal Assistant Watkins, Pawlick, Calati & Prifti P.C. Madison Heights, Michigan WPCP is a boutique employee benefits firm, representing pension, annuity, health, apprenticeship, vacation, supplemental unemployment and other funds, including their associated collections programs. We are seeking a full-time billing clerk/legal assistant with billing clerk experience or an associate's degree in accounting or other relevant area of study. Duties
- Assist with entering and editing attorneys time at the pre-billing stage
- Look over finalized work, reviewing errors or duplicate entries before turning in a final product
- Generating invoices, verifying billing information, resolving any discrepancies and ensuring timely payments by clients
- Reconciliation of client payments
- Identify aging A/R balances for follow up
- Enter or update client rates
- Create monthly billing reports
- Other pertinent billing duties
- Prepare emails to clients with approved invoices
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere in the office, creating a positive experience for clients, visitors, and staff members
- Manage and coordinate all aspects of office administration, such as managing office supplies, equipment, and facilities maintenance
- Assist attorneys and staff with administrative tasks, including drafting and proofreading correspondence, preparing and filing legal documents, and managing calendars
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings, court appearances, and other appointments, ensuring all necessary arrangements are made
- Oversee and manage client files and records, ensuring proper organization, confidentiality, and compliance with data protection regulations
- The role may include additional duties, specialized projects and other tasks as required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a billing clerk, or an associate's degree in bookkeeping or accounting or another relevant area of study
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented
