Responsibilities Prepare and submit dental insurance claims ensuring compliance with insurance requirements. Review patient records meticulously to verify accurate coding with CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ADA codes Interpret clinician's notes for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments to maximize reimbursement. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies, resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain comprehensive and organized dental records, ensuring all billing information aligns with clinical documentation. Collaborate with dental staff to clarify billing issues, update patient information, and improve overall billing workflows. Stay current with evolving dental coding standards, insurance policies, and compliance regulations to ensure accurate billing practices. Interact with patients and check out patients as they leave the office. Calculate and collect any necessary co-payments from patients. Skills Strong knowledge of dental codes Proficiency in dental billing processes using Open Dental Experience in collection procedures and resolving claim denials efficiently. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical records management, and insurance claim submission protocols. Excellent attention to detail Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members, patients and insurance providers.
