Full Time Position Summary
Rome Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Clerk to join our Revenue Cycle team. This full-time position is responsible for the accurate and timely review, validation, and submission of insurance claims, as well as denial management, account follow-up, and credit balance resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, medical billing experience, and a commitment to maintaining current knowledge of payer requirements and regulatory compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review, validate, and submit insurance claims accurately and efficiently.
Identify, correct, and resubmit rejected or denied claims in a timely manner.
Review electronic billing system edits and claim errors daily to ensure prompt resolution.
Conduct routine account follow-up and manage work queues, ticklers, and outstanding balances.
Perform timely Accounts Receivable follow-up to facilitate reimbursement and reduce aging balances.
Review and resolve credit balances according to established policies and procedures.
Maintain current knowledge of payer guidelines, billing regulations, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary documentation and resolve billing issues.
Provide excellent customer service when responding to billing-related inquiries.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous medical billing experience required.
Experience working with insurance claims, denials, and payer follow-up preferred.
Skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient typing and computer skills.
Effective communication and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
