Job Description

Join the Endeavor Team! Endeavor is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Billing Specialist to support our financial operations and ensure accurate, timely reimbursement for behavioral health services. This role is ideal for someone with medical billing experience who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and contributing to a mission-driven agency. This position is onsite at our West Seneca, NY office. Position Summary The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing billing activities, processing insurance claims, resolving claim issues, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements. This position plays a critical role in supporting the agency's financial health and ensuring the individuals we serve receive seamless service. What You'll Do Submit accurate electronic and paper claims in accordance with payer, state, and federal requirements. Review billing reports and resolve billing discrepancies and errors. Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and coordinate resubmissions as needed. Verify client eligibility, benefits, and authorizations prior to claim submission. Maintain working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines relevant to behavioral health services. Manage accounts receivable and support timely reimbursement efforts. Assist clients with billing and insurance-related inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and billing compliance standards. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Qualifications Required Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience. Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and billing software. Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding. Understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance billing processes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately. Preferred Experience billing for behavioral health, mental health, or substance use treatment services. Compensation & Benefits Salary:
