Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of billing including submitting all charges for services rendered, reconciling all entries, identifying and correcting all errors. Follow up on all registration and insurance errors in the Xpeditor system and completing compliance logs as stipulated by policy. Ensure work is done accurately, timely and in compliance with all policies.
Formal Education Required:
High School graduate with business or accounting emphasis. Associate degree in business or accounting preferred or graduate of accredited medical assistant program.
Experience & Training Required:
Two (2) years healthcare patient accounts experience. One (1) year of medical billing experience in medical office or hospital setting preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and financial records Analytical and problem solving skills for claim correction and account resolution. Ability to make good decisions, think independently, and work as a team player. Working knowledge of computers, calculators, and other equipment used in a professional setting.

Ability to effectively interact with population of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
