JOB TITLE

Rating / Billing Clerk

REPORTS TO

Billing / Rating Manager

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Always services the customer first through a dual role involving accurate data entry of information from customer's bill of lading into Ward's freight bill system and by accurately applying rates to bills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with employees from various departments to gain clarity on bills that may be unclear. Work to provide customer satisfaction by learning and understanding customer's unique requirements in the billing / rating process. Accurately rate billings subject to manual rate application by maintaining less than 0.4% error ratio to ensure customer satisfaction. Respond to customer and employee questions via the telephone demonstrating Ward's standard for telephone etiquette. Respond to customer and employee questions via email demonstrating Ward's standard for email etiquette. Shows high level of teamwork within the Billing / Pricing Department. Maintain less than one percent rating error ratio. Fully support all technologies and processes, introduced by Ward, that are intended to improve efficiencies and/or the customer experience. Support would include adherence to training programs, guidelines and processes associated with these systems. Process assigned holding queues on timely basis. Completes assignments on a timely basis. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Billing Supervisor, Rates and Audits Manager, and/or Director of Contracts.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have excellent data entry skills. Must be proficient in business math and analytical skills. Must have strong organizational skills. Must have good verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with employees at other locations. Must be proficient with PC's and have a good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs. Previous background of transportation industry preferred. Must have basic ability to use office equipment such as computer, calculator, photocopier, fax, etc. Must be able to work hours as needed and travel as required.
