Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. This role is responsible for accurate billing, claims submission, payment posting, and follow-up to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance carriers and patients. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of medical billing processes, payer rules, and HIPAA compliance. Key Responsibilities + Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid + Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits + Post payments, adjustments, and denials accurately + Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies + Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for accuracy + Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams regarding billing questions + Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations + Ensure billing practices align with payer guidelines and company policies Requirements Qualifications + 1+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle + Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes + Experience with insurance follow-up, denials, and appeals + Familiarity with EHR/medical billing systems (e.g., Epic, Athena, NextGen, or similar) + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel + High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Preferred Qualifications + Medical Billing certification (CPB, CPC, or equivalent) + Experience with multiple payer types and high-volume billing environments + Knowledge of AR management and collections Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
