Revenue Cycle Management Job Summary:
The Billing Manager oversees coding and billing operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant claim submission and reimbursement. This role manages staff, monitors workflows, resolves complex billing issues, and drives process improvements to optimize revenue cycle performance. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to effectively work with providers, payers, and internal teams while promoting efficiency and accuracy across all billing functions. Revenue Cycle Oversight Manage day-to-day billing operations including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, and follow-up Ensure claims are submitted accurately and in a timely manner to maximize reimbursement Monitor and manage accounts receivable, aging reports, and denial trends Oversee resolution of claim rejections, denials, and underpayments Team Leadership Supervise, train, and support billing staff to ensure productivity and accuracy Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development Assign workloads and ensure coverage across all billing functions Process Improvement & Compliance Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, federal/state regulations, and internal policies Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing, and reimbursement requirements Work closely with billing staff, front desk, clinical staff, and leadership to resolve billing issues
Requirements:
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred 3 - 5+ years of medical billing experience 1 - 3+ years in a supervisory or management role Skills & Knowledge Strong understanding of the full revenue cycle process Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles Experience with EMR/PM systems Familiarity with clearinghouses and payer portals Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities
