Position Type:
Contract (with strong potential to transition to a permanent, full-time role) About the Opportunity We are seeking multiple proactive and motivated Medical Billing Specialists to join a premier, fast-paced women's healthcare practice. In this role, you will work collaboratively with an internal team to address an existing claims backlog, ensuring clean claim submissions and accurate revenue cycle management. Core Responsibilities Charge Posting:
Review, enter, and post medical charges accurately and timely according to coding and billing guidelines.
Claim Submission:
Prepare, review, and submit insurance claims for physician and professional services.
Quality Assurance:
Verify claim accuracy and completeness prior to submission to optimize first-pass acceptance.
Backlog Management:
Work through existing billing backlogs while maintaining quality, productivity, and volume standards.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Identify and communicate missing or incomplete documentation needed for claim submission and collaborate with internal teams to resolve charge entry discrepancies.
Compliance:
Maintain strict compliance with payer requirements, HIPAA regulations, and organizational policies.
Performance Targets:
Consistently meet established productivity goals (target metrics include processing 30-40 standard claims per hour, or 15-20 complex claims per hour). Position Requirements Strong, practical understanding of charge posting and insurance claim submission processes. Proven experience with physician billing is required. Ability to handle a high-volume workload, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines. Outstanding communication skills and a responsible, self-motivated approach to taking initiative. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience billing specifically for OB/GYN or specialty women's health services is highly preferred. Hands-on proficiency with the Greenway Prime Suite EMR platform. Demonstrated experience successfully auditing and resolving historical claims or billing backlogs.
