Medical Biller - Oncology (Remote, 1099 Contractor)

Hours:
Flexible; varies based on client contracts and workload
Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour Position Summary The Medical Biller is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely billing of oncology services to maximize reimbursement and maintain compliance with all payer guidelines and regulations. This role supports the full revenue cycle process, including claim submission, follow-up, denial resolution, and payment posting. The Medical Biller serves as a key liaison between clinical staff, payers, and internal team members to support efficient and compliant billing operations.
Key Responsibilities Billing & Claims Management:
Prepare and submit clean electronic and paper claims for timely reimbursement Monitor claim status and follow up on outstanding accounts Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile accounts accurately
Revenue Cycle Support:
Verify insurance coverage and benefits to support billing accuracy Collaborate with internal team members to resolve billing discrepancies Identify trends in denials and assist in improving billing processes and reimbursement outcomes
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all billing activities comply with federal, state, and payer regulations (HIPAA, OIG, etc.) Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities and payer communications Support internal audits and quality assurance efforts
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
2-3+ years of medical billing experience required Oncology billing experience required Strong experience with claim submission, follow-up, and denial management
Skills:
Proficiency with EHR and billing systems Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently in a remote environment Effective communication skills with team members and payers Working Conditions 100% remote position with potential in-person training required Priority will be given to candidates located in Spokane, Washington Remote candidates will be considered if open to travel for training ( travel expenses covered by the company ) Independent contractor (1099) role Flexible schedule based on workload and active client contracts Must have reliable internet and a secure workspace
Pay:
$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
