Job Summary and Qualifications The Senior Billing Analyst is responsible for resolving claim delays from various payer products, identifying problem accounts, process and trends and escalating as appropriate. Senior Billing Analyst is responsible for applying fundamental knowledge of healthcare billing practices and procedures related to identifying and performing root cause analysis to resolve claim issues, performing claims review, monitoring and resolving issue tracking tickets, creating and executing reports, working assigned inventory, and assisting managers or staff as needed. What will you do in this role: Resolve claim processing delays from various payer products including HMO, PPO, Medicaid, Medicare, Auto and Workers' Compensation Effectively utilize ERA payment information to identify trends and make recommendations Be able to utilize various data sources to drive decisions Resolve assigned inventory and issues, follow-up on outstanding issues, and escalate as needed Proactively review and provide data analysis and financial impact assessment Work with vendors and other organizations when needed to resolve open accounts receivable Create, schedule, and run reports and queries for monitoring billing performance Work directly with payors to resolve outstanding issues Create and execute processes to systematically update specific fields on claims Identify and communicate to management educational opportunities Collaborate with other departments to resolve enrollment or claim issues Monitor defined reports and coordinate with applicable departments to ensure accounts receivable is properly stated Complete special projects as assigned by management Identifies Payer trends and communicates trends to supervisor for further action/escalation.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred Two years of related experience Minimum one-year related healthcare experience required, such as enrollment for electronic claims submission, remittance, money transfers, professional electronic medical billing through clearinghouse, paper medical billing, insurance follow-up, and medical payment posting.
