The Temporary Collections Assistant will provide short-term support to the Department of Anthropology by assisting with the organization, packing, inventory, and relocation of departmental collections and exhibits during the department's move to McGlothlin Hall.Hourly rate:

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift and move boxes and materials weighing up to 30 pounds. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with museum, archival, or cultural collections. Interest in anthropology, museum studies, history, or a related field. Experience handling delicate or historical materials.Conditions of Employment:
This is a non-exempt position, which may be eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed, on average, 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve-month period beginning May 1 each year. This position is restricted to a specific term.Job Duties:
Assisting with packing, labeling, and transporting anthropology collections and related materials. Helping with organizing collections to ensure accurate tracking during the move. Following established procedures for the safe handling of museum and archival materials. Assisting with the setup and organization of collections and displays in the new location.
