Job Description

Overview of Position:
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Billing Specialists.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in related field with a minimum of 3 years of medical billing and medical management experience. CPC and/or CPB or similar certification highly desired. eClinicalWorks experience preferred. Knowledge /
Skills:
Advanced and current working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes; current knowledge of insurance payer coding and reimbursement guidelines, working knowledge of methods, procedures, regulations, and guidelines in patient billing; must be comfortable working and making decisions independently; able to identify, initiate, implement and manage business practices, policies and processes; proficient organization skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Essential Job Functions:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Revenue Cycle, incumbent is responsible for the following duties: Provides guidance and direction to billing personnel. Prepares, implements, and manages existing and new departmental processes and procedures Keeps departmental staff appraised of organizational and industry changes to include guidelines, rules, and regulations Assists with billing and follow up functions Conduct new employee training Attends and participates in management meetings and continuing education opportunities Demonstrates and promotes a positive patient/customer service attitude Performs other tasks as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Must possess the ability to communicate in the dominant language of the geographic region. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Vision and hearing corrected within normal limits is required. Must have manual dexterity to key in data, grab, grip, hold, tear, cut, sort, and reach.
