Full job description Role and Responsibilities The Payment Poster is responsible for processing all payments and adjustments received to the business office timely and accurately. Correct the auto payment posting errors, balance posted payments before leaving each day. Submit required paperwork daily, work the credit reports and unapplied balance reports. Ensure confidentiality of all patient accounts by following HIPAA guidelines. Adheres to compliance of CMS and other payor guidelines. Communicate daily with management on payor trends. The position will also perform any other tasks as assigned by the Billing Manager and Director of Operations. Qualifications and Education Requirements Minimum two years' experience in Medical Insurance payment posting experience preferred. Preferred Skills Computer skills including web browsing, excel, and EMR software Must be able to proficient in insurance denials Must have prior experience applying cash, check, credit card, EOB, EFT. Must reconcile batch daily Work zero pay claims Assist in Secondary claim submissions Assist in Benefit Verifications Assist in Patient and Claims A/R Excellent people skills; ability to work independently and as a team member Excellent communication skills; written and oral Ability to work independently and as a team member Understanding of HIPPA regulations, respect for patient confidentiality Efficiency and attention to detail Must demonstrate strong proficiency with payer portals Any other duties as assigned Experience in CPT and ICD-10 coding; familiarity with medical terminology.
