As a Medical Billing Clerk, you will play a vital role in the financial operations of our medical office. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure accurate and timely billing and coding of patient records, as well as maintaining efficient medical billing systems. This position requires strong organizational skills, an understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Accurately code and bill patient records using ICD-9 and CPT coding systems
  • Utilize medical billing software and systems to process claims
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient records to identify billing errors
  • Manage and resolve medical collections and billing issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Collaborate with the medical team to resolve billing and coding discrepancies
  • Stay current with changes in medical coding and billing regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance providers
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education in medical billing or a related field
  • Proficiency with medical billing software and systems
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding systems
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Experience with medical records and medical billing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
