Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Liaison serves as the operational bridge between the pharmacy, clinic, providers, the billing department, the insurance department, and patients. This role coordinates revenue cycle communications, supports patient financial services, manages medical record requests, and resolves operational issues that impact reimbursement and the patient experience. The position focuses on communication, workflow coordination, and patient support rather than insurance verification, claims submission, coding, denial management, or payment posting. The Billing Department retains primary ownership of all billing activities, account management, and financial resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Cycle Coordination Serve as the primary liaison between the Pharmacy, Clinic, Billing Department, Providers, Insurance Department, and Patients. Coordinate communication regarding outstanding revenue cycle issues. Track issues from identification through resolution. Route requests to the appropriate department and ensure timely follow-up. Escalate unresolved issues to leadership. Monitor work queues and identify workflow bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Patient Financial Services The Revenue Cycle Liaison provides secondary support to the Billing Department by assisting with patient financial responsibilities and facilitating communication regarding patient balances. Assist with collecting patient copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, per diem charges, and other patient-responsible balances, as directed or when appropriate. Reinforce patient education regarding financial responsibility and available payment options. Accept and process patient payments in accordance with organizational policies and issue receipts as needed. Assist with follow-up on outstanding patient balances in collaboration with the Billing Department. Escalate payment disputes, billing concerns, refund requests, and financial hardship requests to the Billing Department for review and resolution. Maintain accurate documentation of patient financial interactions within the electronic medical record. Patient & Provider Communication Assist in responding to routine patient billing inquiries and direct complex billing questions to the Billing Department. Communicate account status, refunds, balances, and payment expectations. Facilitate communication between clinical, operational, and billing teams. Medical Records & Document Management Coordinate medical and billing record requests. Maintain request logs. Manage departmental mail. Scan and organize revenue cycle documentation. Operational Support Monitor turnaround times for patient inquiries, refunds, and records requests. Prepare operational reports for leadership. Support continuous process improvement initiatives. Compliance Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential information. Follow all organizational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred. Minimum of two (2) years of healthcare administration, patient financial services, revenue cycle, or specialty pharmacy experience preferred. Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with electronic medical records; CareTend experience preferred. Notary Public certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
