Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides supervision, training, direction, and performance monitoring to assigned staff of the Business Office. Implements projects and activities to attain goals established by the Health System. Develops policies and procedures to assure compliance with CMS (Medicare/Medicaid) or any other agency that UH is contractually required to follow. Promotes the Health System's mission, purpose, goals, objectives and commitment to service excellence.
Responsibility includes:
oversight of University Health System's collection of patient accounts receivables. Provides Supervision of Sr. Coordinator/Coordinator as well as PBS staff in follow-up areas of the department. Performs all other duties as assigned. Utilizes the Lean methodology in constantly improving processes within the business office.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Five years' experience in hospital business office management position is required. College Degree in Business or Health Care Administration is preferred. Experience with third party payors, accounts receivable management, 837 electronic billing and 835 electronic posting systems, Medicare and Texas Medicaid billing/follow up experience, is preferred. Leadership skills and a strong computer systems orientation is required.
