Job Description
Billing AssistantFull-Time | Monday-Friday Nayar Health Care is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Assistant to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the billing department by ensuring claims are processed accurately, maintaining patient accounts, and assisting with insurance verification and payment posting. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities Assist with preparing and submitting Medicare insurance claims. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Post insurance and patient payments accurately. Review claims for completeness and resolve billing discrepancies. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims with insurance companies. Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation. Respond to patient and payer billing inquiries professionally. Work collaboratively with clinical, intake, and administrative teams to ensure timely reimbursement. Perform other billing and administrative duties as assigned. Ability to work with different referral sources like physician offices and hospitals to get records in a timely manner Ability to work with sales team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of documents needed for billing Well versed in MS office (e.g Word & Excel) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. Minimum of one year of medical billing experience preferred. Home Health or Hospice billing experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing processes. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
