Job Description

Springfield Medical Center, P.C. is a small, established concierge primary care practice in the Richmond, Virginia area. We are seeking a dependable, personable, and detail-focused individual to join our close-knit office team. Because we are a small concierge practice, every team member plays an important role in the day-to-day operation of the office. We are looking for someone who works well independently, communicates effectively, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a small, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, professional, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Position Schedule Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — 24 hours per week Key Responsibilities Handle medical billing, claims submission, patient payments, payment posting, and insurance follow-up. Greet patients, assist front desk and general patient care i.e. escorting patients to treatment rooms, obtaining vitals, and assisting in medical procedures. Assist with patient collections and outstanding balances. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, and obtain insurance authorizations and referrals. Assist with provider credentialing and maintaining current credentialing information. Communicate with insurance companies, specialists, and other healthcare offices as needed. Review claims and billing information for accuracy and identify potential issues. Monitor inventory, maintain office, medical, and clinical supplies. Assist with general administrative and front-office responsibilities. Answer phones, respond to patient messages, schedule patient appointments, and assist patients with questions or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain organized records and documentation. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and practice policies. Work closely with the physician and office staff to ensure the practice operates efficiently. Required Qualifications Previous medical office, healthcare administrative, or medical/insurance billing experience preferred. Familiarity with insurance authorizations, referrals, and credentialing preferred. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, dependable, and personable. Comfortable communicating with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a small team. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize practice management and billing software. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
