PFS Technical Coordinator - HospitalJOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for direct supervision of the Patient Financial Services staff, greeting patients as needed, communication with clinical departments, customer service, provides office with pertinent information, supplies and ordering as needed. Actively participates in the quality improvement of the department. Provides training for new staff. Evaluates staff productivity and performance. Performs and directs other duties necessary for the daily operation of the Patient Financial Services Department. Provides supervision and support for the Department under the direction and oversight of a Manager.DEPARTMENT

Associates degree orB.A./B.S.
degree is preferred. Requires at least 3 years experience working in a hospital PFS department. Prefer at least 1 year experience as a lead or supervisor. Microsoft Office software and patient accounting system competency. Proven leadership ability and experience, including ability to motivate team members and develop and achieve performance goals. Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates excellent verbal and interpersonal communications skills. Excellent service and problem resolution customer service skills. Demonstrates leadership and the ability to be role model in teamwork situations. Flexibility and adaptability to keep organized and positive in a climate of change. Demonstrates "hands on" knowledge of the functions that the Supervisor is responsible for such as billing, insurance follow-up, customer service, collections, or cash posting. Demonstrates the ability to give direction and obtain results from others. Demonstrates ability to counsel and discuss improvements in work performance. Participates and is able to facilitate staff meetings as required. Researches and resolves customer complaints. Attends all available internal and external leadership and education meetings. Participates in internal operations meetings as directed by Manager or Director. Maintains confidentiality of all protected health information. Demonstrates the awareness of the importance of cost containment for the Department. Provide suggestions regarding process or quality improvement opportunities. Works to ensure compliance with VMC, governmental, and payer regulations and rules. In order to maintain skill levels, and to ensure that work gets completed, the Tech Coordinator may need to provide coverage during short staffing due to illness or severe weather.
