The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, with expertise in various coding systems such as
CPC, CPB, CCS.
This role is crucial in ensuring accurate billing processes and maintaining the integrity of medical records. The Billing Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient billing operations while adhering to industry standards. Responsibilities Process and manage medical billing and collections for patients and insurance companies. Apply knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS Coding systems. Review patient records and documentation for completeness and accuracy. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations. Collaborate with staff to resolve billing discrepancies or issues. Utilize EHR system effectively for managing patient information and billing processes. Prepare and submit claims to insurance providers while following up on outstanding claims. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding medical billing practices. Requirements Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or collections within a healthcare setting. Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems. Familiarity with EHR system is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical records management. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients. Previous experience in a medical office environment is preferred. High School Diploma or GED. Able to pass criminal history record check. Able to pass a monitored urinalysis testing. Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance. Must have no history of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of 3 years immediately prior to the time of employment.
