Attention to detail Problem-solving Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing insurance claims, managing patient billing, resolving payment discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with healthcare billing regulations. This role requires strong communication skills, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit medical claims to insurance providers Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing issues Post payments and reconcile accounts accurately Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and payment arrangements Maintain accurate billing records and documentation Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections when necessary Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred 1-3 years of medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle experience Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems Familiarity with EHR/EMR and medical billing software Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification preferred but not required Preferred Skills Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims Understanding of insurance appeals and denial management Customer service experience in a healthcare setting Benefits Competitive salary Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Supportive team environment Salary Range Starting $22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
