Billing Specialist

We are a busy, fast paced, private owned, Optical practice that strives to provide excellent patient care. We are currently looking to hire a full-time Billing Assistant. We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized person to join our practice and help ensure smooth and accurate claims processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately enter, submit and follow up on insurance claims (vision and medical) Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts Review and correct claim denials or rejections Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues Assist patients with billing questions and account balances Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding and billing procedures

Other Responsibilities May Include:

Verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments Helping at the front desk to Check In/Check Out patients at their appointments Assist with answering the phone to help patients, reschedule patients and schedule patient appointments Other basic office tasks such as copying, faxing, scanning, etc. Cross train to help assist in other areas of the office as needed Experience preferred but not required.
