POSITION SUMMARY

The Nursing Supervisor position provides support to the Manager of Specialty Pharmacy Services. Together the Manager of Specialty Pharmacy Services and Nursing Supervisor have responsibility for the management of operations and achievement of organizational/unit based strategic goals. This is accomplished through the growth and retention of a cohesive team, support of a culture of safety, excellence and accountability, management of the departmental budget and resources, oversight of daily operations, participation in performance improvement and committee work, intradisciplinary communication and collaboration, development of evidence-based policy and procedure and general administrative duties. The Nursing Supervisor must have/maintain the technical skills and competency to provide direct care for patients in the unit. The Nursing Supervisor will report directly to the Manager of Specialty Pharmacy Services, will be very involved with management duties, overall unit leadership and, in the absence of the Manager of Specialty Pharmacy Services, will be able to manage daily operations and decision making with support from the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education Associates Degree in Nursing Minimum Experience 3-5 years of experience Required Registration/License/Certification Alabama Board of Nursing License BLS within 90 days of DOH/Transfer ACLS required within 90 days of DOH/transfer ONS required within 180 days of DOH/transfer Preferred Education BSN Preferred Experience Previous charge nurse experience Preferred Registration/License/Certification Previous ONS certification Other Requirements N/A
