We are building our leadership team for the future and are looking for an experienced collections leader ready to take the next step in their career. The Collections Assistant Manager - Leadership Development Program is designed as a fast-track development opportunity for a high-performing leader with the goal of progressing into a Collections Manager role. In this position, you'll combine hands-on team leadership with portfolio analytics, operational strategy, employee development, and customer resolution. You'll work closely with senior leadership to improve collections performance while developing the skills needed to lead the department at a higher level. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop a team of collection representatives through daily direction, performance management, and one-on-one coaching. Monitor collection queues and key portfolio metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Analyze delinquency, cure rates, right-party contacts, payment activity, promise-to-pay performance, and other KPIs to drive results. Develop and implement strategies to improve cash flow, reduce delinquency, and minimize repossessions. Support staffing, scheduling, workload balancing, dialer strategies, and other operational initiatives. Handle escalated customer situations, hardship requests, payment arrangements, and complex negotiations. Partner with senior leadership to improve processes, reporting, technology utilization, and departmental efficiency. Help recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members and future leaders. Support compliance, quality assurance, audits, and regulatory requirements. Participate in strategic initiatives involving budgeting, workforce planning, KPI development, change management, and cross-functional collaboration. What We're Looking For We are looking for a coach, problem-solver, and results-driven leader who can balance empathy with accountability.
The ideal candidate:
Has 3+ years of leadership experience in auto collections, consumer finance, loan servicing, or a high-performance call center environment. Has a proven record of improving team performance and developing employees. Is comfortable having difficult conversations and holding people accountable. Uses data and KPIs to identify trends and make informed decisions. Proactively identifies problems and develops solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do. Has strong communication, judgment, and executive presence. Enjoys coaching and developing future leaders. Thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. Has experience in BHPH, auto finance, or auto loan servicing strongly preferred. Is comfortable using collection systems, reporting tools, skip-tracing resources, and Dealer Management Systems. Has a high school diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Management, or a related field is preferred. Why Join Us?
