Specific duties include (but are not limited to): Directs the daily operations of the Collection Department to ensure we are operating effectively and efficiently. This also involves regularly assessing the department's processes and implementing changes that will help improve productivity. Establish and maintain effective collection policies and procedures, ensuring all debt collection practices are adhered to. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations and directs department personnel. Also is responsible for staff development and training, promoting growth within current position or within the organization. Manages the collateral tracking process for all loans. Affirms that the company is protected on secured loans. Promotes within the department a positive attitude, team effort and the desire to collect on all accounts. Works with repo agents and auctions to ensure collateral is picked up swiftly and liquidated within the confines of the respective state's law Responsible for accurate records within the Collection system as well as the maintenance and management of the software Seeks to cure delinquency by evaluating each loan independently and making proper suggestion/decision to turn loan into a performing loan.
Requirements:
Keeps all customer and company business strictly confidential Five years of previous supervision experience in an automobile 1st party collections environment or other financial institution required. Strong knowledge of credit and collection procedures and principles, legal regulations related to collections. Ability to counsel/persuade customers and make decisions as required. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to interact with third party partners, auditors, examiners and members of management. Ability to lead, train and motivate staff
