Full Job Description Job Description:
Manages the daily operations of the Self Pay and Bad Debt department for Peaks region. This involves managing a team of supervisors and a team of remote caregivers who answer patient inquiries regarding all aspects of our billing processes. This team's role is to help patients understand their financial responsibility and collect on outstanding balances or connect patients with resources to aid in the resolution of these balances. This individual must create a high performing team in a fast-paced telephony environment to support a high level of patient satisfaction consistent with the organization's mission. Essential Functions Oversee daily operations of the Self Pay and Bad Debt department. Hire, develop and retain supervisors and caregivers. Provide coaching and feedback to improve performance and recognize accomplishments. Leverage a complex telephony tool to optimize collection performance. Provide support to ensure that the team is engaged and has the tools necessary to perform their job functions effectively. Resolve complex patient escalations by working with teams across the organization. Establish goals/KPIs and monitor performance taking corrective action as necessary. Identify process opportunities and initiate process improvements by analyzing departmental data and assessing patient satisfaction. Skills People Management Communication Process and Change Management Team Building Revenue Cycle Knowledge Collections In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations Customer Service Facilitation Leadership Minimum Qualifications Managerial experience in hospital collections or equivalent in other industry Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare field Demonstrated interpersonal skills in a collaborative work environment. Track record of problem solving in a complex organization. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a revenue cycle operation utilizing Epic. Physical Requirements Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs. Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
