Our organization is focused on maximizing collections, reducing denials, and improving revenue cycle performance through aggressive and efficient account management. We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Radiology Collector with strong experience in medical collections, denial management, and accounts receivable recovery. The ideal candidate must be production-oriented, capable of handling a large volume of accounts, and proficient in AdvancedMD and payer portal workflows. Position Summary The Radiology Collector
  • Revenue Cycle Specialist will be responsible for managing high-volume accounts receivable, aggressively pursuing unpaid claims, resolving denials, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance carriers and patients.
This position requires someone who understands radiology billing workflows, can independently resolve complex claim issues, and consistently deliver strong collection performance. The candidate must be highly organized, persistent, detail-oriented, and capable of working aging AR efficiently to maximize cash collections. Key Responsibilities Manage and work a high-volume AR inventory with strong daily production expectations. Aggressively pursue unpaid claims, denials, rejections, and underpayments to resolution. Identify root causes of denials and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Perform insurance verification, eligibility checks, and authorization review using Availity, payer portals, and clearinghouses. Contact insurance companies directly to secure payment, appeal denials, and expedite claim resolution. Handle patient collection calls professionally regarding balances, payment arrangements, and missing information. Review aging reports daily and prioritize high-balance and timely filing risk accounts. Ensure claims are billed accurately and rebilled promptly when corrections are necessary. Maintain detailed documentation of all collection and follow-up activity within the billing system. Work closely with billing staff, coders, and hospital departments to resolve workflow and reimbursement issues. Monitor payer trends, denial patterns, and reimbursement delays. Meet or exceed established collection, productivity, and AR reduction goals. Assist in improving overall revenue cycle efficiency and cash flow performance. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of medical collections and revenue cycle experience required. Hospital-based radiology billing and collections experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of:
Accounts Receivable (AR) Follow-Up Denials and Appeals Insurance Verification & Eligibility Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Payors, and HMO plans Timely Filing Requirements EOB and ERA review Must be proficient in AdvancedMD and comfortable working within multiple payer portals. Proven track record of successfully recovering aged claims and increasing collections. Ability to handle large account volumes while maintaining productivity and accuracy. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with payers and patients. Highly organized, detail-oriented, persistent, and deadline-driven.
