Job Description

Community Health Alliance is looking for full-time Billing Manager. Join our talented team of Finance that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income. We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. Position Summary The Billing Manager is responsible for oversight of systems and processing for the billing and collections of Community Health Alliance claims. This position is the liaison between Community Health Alliance and the contracted billing and collections vendor(s). This role requires knowledge in utilizing electronic medical record (EMR) software to perform all of the billing and collection functions within revenue cycle management. Paid Time Off:
PTO 15 days/year and increased after one years of service: pro-rated based on FTE status 8 paid holidays per year CHA paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match Additional 403(b)retirement annuity plan for employee to save; no employer match CHA provides a $10,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy for each benefit-eligible employee at no cost to the employee.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) software, claims processing, and collections. Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and all contracted health plan claims related policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of current ICD and CPT coding systems. Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, including HRSA, as they relate to an FQHC in Nevada. Knowledge of Sliding Fee Discount Scale policy and process. Knowledge of health insurance programs, coverage offered and third-party reimbursement mechanisms, for all provider/service types; medical, dental, and behavioral health billing. Knowledge of collection procedures, extensions of credit and payment arrangements. Knowledge of all health and dental care services offered at each clinic site. Knowledge of automated accounting and billing systems. Knowledge of provider contracting and credentialing processes. Skill in communicating effectively to employees, patients, peers, and management. Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and other office equipment. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sliding fees, discounts, interest, proportions and percentages. Ability to maintain a Fee Schedule(s) for all billed services. Ability to maintain HIPAA compliance in all departmental and personal operations. Ability to accurately interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form in order to meet contract and regulatory requirements. Ability to maintain a positive working relationship with other staff. Reasonable accommodation will be made for physical limitations on an individual basis
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, relevant experience. Five years insurance/billing experience in a healthcare setting, preferably FQHC, with minimum three years of supervisory experience. Experience with Medicaid/Medicare/CMS policies and healthcare coding preferred.

Indoor office environment Physical demands: Ability to maintain driver's license and to travel throughout the community as well as between clinic sites as needed. Ability to sit or stand. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information to co-workers or patients and to convey spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly. Ability to hear and understand verbal communication. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds on a frequent basis.
