Job Summary Energo is seeking an experienced In-House Counsel focused on receivables and collections to lead legal recovery efforts, reduce bad debt, and strengthen contract enforceability across a growing portfolio of commercial and multifamily clients. Responsibilities Lead all legal aspects of accounts receivable recovery Draft and issue demand letters, default notices, and settlement agreements Manage litigation, liens, judgments, and enforcement actions Oversee outside counsel and collection agencies Develop and implement collections strategy and escalation protocols Partner with finance on credit risk and aging receivables Draft and improve contracts, guarantees, and credit applications Support reduction of DSO and bad debt Qualifications JD + admitted in New York 1-3+ years' experience in commercial collections and litigation Experience with mechanic's liens and UCC filings (strong plus) Experience in construction, HVAC, or energy services (preferred) Strong negotiation and business judgment Success Metrics Reduction in aged receivables (60/90+ days) Increased collection rate / recovery % Lower bad debt write-offs Faster legal resolution timelines Performance bonus tied to collections performance
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
