This role is critical in stabilizing day-to-day operations, strengthening collection efforts, improving team accountability, and ensuring timely month-end close activities while allowing existing leadership to focus on a major ERP initiative. The ideal candidate is a proactive accounting professional who can quickly assess priorities, establish structure, and lead a team while remaining willing to roll up their sleeves and personally execute key billing, collections, and accounting activities when needed. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for the Billing and Collections team. Manage and prioritize collection efforts across a large accounts receivable portfolio exceeding$300M Drive collection performance, reduce aging balances, and improve cash flow. Establish clear ownership, accountability, and operational processes for team. Support and oversee month-end close activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Identify process inefficiencies and implement practical solutions to improve performance and workflow. Monitor AR metrics, collection trends, and team productivity, providing regular status updates to leadership. Partner with project managers, operations leaders, and customers to resolve billing and collection issues. Serve as a hands-on contributor, stepping in to execute billing, collections, account reconciliations, and other accounting tasks as necessary. Assist with ERP-related transition activities and process alignment as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting, accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience. Prior experience supervising or leading accounting teams. Demonstrated success managing large-scale AR portfolios and driving collection results. Strong understanding of month-end close processes and accounting fundamentals. Experience in construction, engineering, project-based, or contract-driven environments strongly preferred. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) or similar ERP systems is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to quickly assess situations, prioritize competing demands, and execute with minimal ramp-up time.
Pay:
$50.00 - $60.00 per hour
