Job Description

Job Overview Work under the guidance of the Field Supervisor. Must have a reliable vehicle. Go to towns to discover, review, confirm, collect data, and take photos as needed. Work in conjunction with Data Entry to ensure data mailer information gets reviewed and updated. Provide Field Supervisor and Valuation Analyst with pertinent information discovered during collection. Perform hearings. Any other tasks requested by the supervisor. Responsibilities The Collectors physically visit properties to collect relevant data. This involves noting down details like property size, condition, amenities, and any unique features using a red pen. Collectors will be required to communicate with homeowners for the purpose of their visit in a professional and courteous manner. The Collector is required to have an eQuality issued collector's shirt and hat, name badge, clipboard with a town specific message, and eQuality magnets on their vehicle. Data Collectors are responsible for taking clear photos of residential and commercial properties in a municipality. During this time collectors will use their company issued cell phone. At the end of the day collectors are responsible for synchronizing their phones to the CAMA system. The Data Collectors are instructed, when possible, to take all pictures from the street and refrain from going on private property. Collectors will also perform inspections on properties that have outstanding permits. The collectors will document the percent complete of the permit and any new information on the card using a red pen. Again, the Collector is required to have an eQuality issued collector's shirt and hat, name badge, clipboard with a town specific message, and eQuality magnets on their vehicle. These permits will be issued back to the Assessor after the Data Entry enters the data. Collectors are responsible for determining the validity of data mailers changes where Data Entry is uncertain. Substantial changes that affect value will be reviewed by collectors via GIS, Callbacks, or on-site inspection. These calls and changes should then be documented through the reval tracker. Data Collectors are responsible for calling property owners that requested to be contacted. During this time, the collector is responsible for answering all questions and making the property owner feel at ease. These calls should then be documented through the reval tracker. At the end of the revaluation cycle data collectors will perform informal telephone hearings. Hearings give the property owner the option to call in and dispute their preliminary values. Collectors will answer the property owner's questions in a professional manner and help feel them at ease. The Collector must document the taxpayer's concerns using a designated informal hearing form. This form must be completed properly as these forms are used by the Valuation team and later returned to the Client Assessor. Based upon some recent feedback that we have received from our clients in their satisfaction surveys, the Collector's must be extra careful and keep the conversations with property owners to fact finding and refrain from offering their own personal opinions lest to give the property owners any false hope of getting a valuation change that may not occur.
Pay:
$17.50 - $19.00 per hour
