Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Operator for a contract opportunity in Merrillville, IN. This role is ideal for an experienced administrative professional who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and high-volume data processing. In this position, you will support a busy public sector team by entering, reviewing, cleaning, and maintaining important records and confidential information. Key Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate to advanced data entry, data cleanup, and record maintenance with a high level of accuracy.
- Enter, review, proof, code, sort, and prioritize alpha and numeric information.
- Identify and correct errors through visual inspection and quality checks.
- Generate tracking reports and maintain accurate documentation from entered data.
- Process confidential and sensitive information while following established procedures.
- Support multiple data entry assignments, systems, and workflow priorities. Compensation and Benefits

801 E. 86th Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410. Required Qualifications and Skills- Perform high-volume alpha and numeric data entry with accuracy and speed.
- Clean, review, proof, and maintain records and reports.
- Use Excel to sort, filter, organize, and manage data.
- Process confidential information and support multiple data entry workflows.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant administrative, clerical, or data entry experience.
- Ability to type approximately 10,000 keystrokes per hour.
- Strong 10-key and data entry skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data entry, sorting, filtering, creating columns, and managing spreadsheets.
- Basic Excel formulas and functions preferred for daily reporting and data management.
- Good mathematical, item-processing, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to code, sort, prioritize, and visually inspect information for accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills and receptiveness to feedback.
- Willingness to complete a required typing test. Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Access experience.
- Experience working in a government, public sector, records management, or high-volume administrative environment.
- Prior experience supporting multiple data entry systems or workflow queues.
