Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Entry Clerk to join our trucking and transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining transportation, driver, shipment, and customer records. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient operations, accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.Responsibilities:
- Enter and update shipment, dispatch, driver, and vehicle information into company databases and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Process bills of lading (BOLs), proof of delivery (PODs), invoices, fuel receipts, and other transportation documents.
- Verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies in transportation records.
- Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for operational and compliance documents.
- Assist with freight billing, invoicing, and payroll data entry.
- Track and record driver logs, mileage reports, and equipment information.
- Generate reports related to shipments, deliveries, fuel usage, and operational performance.
- Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, customers, and administrative staff to obtain missing information and resolve data issues.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of company and customer information.
- Support administrative and office functions as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is an asset.
- Previous data entry, administrative, or transportation industry experience preferred.
- Strong typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) or logistics software is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
